The Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP AGS-101 (also known as the GBA-101) is an upgraded version of the original Game Boy Advance SP that was released in 2005. It has a backlit LCD screen that can display up to 32,768 colours and has two brightness settings. The GBA-101 can play games from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance libraries, making it the last Nintendo handheld to have backwards compatibility with these systems. The GBA-101 has a clamshell design that protects the screen when closed and has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can last up to 10 hours with the light on or 18 hours with the light off. The GBA-101 comes in various colours and special editions, such as the NES classic design, the SpongeBob SquarePants model, and the Zelda gold edition.
