The Atari 2600+ is a modern version of the Atari 2600, a video game console that was released in 1980 and became one of the most popular and influential home gaming systems of all time.
The Atari 2600+ can play both Atari 2600 and 7800 game cartridges, which are inserted into an enlarged slot that reduces sticking. It also features HDMI output, which makes it easy to connect to modern TVs, and a widescreen mode, which adjusts the aspect ratio of the games to fit the screen.
The Atari 2600+ is designed to look and feel like the 4-switch Atari 2600, which has a black plastic case with woodgrain accents and four silver switches on the front panel. The Atari logo on the console lights up when it is being played, adding a touch of nostalgia.
The Atari 2600+ comes with a CX40+ joystick controller, which is a faithful recreation of the original 2600 joystick.
The Atari 2600+ also comes with a 10-in-1 game cartridge featuring some of Atari’s most famous games: Adventure, Combat, Dodge ‘Em, Haunted House, Maze Craze, Missile Command, RealSports Volleyball, Surround, Video Pinball and Yars’ Revenge. Games are selected by the dip-switches on the back of the cartridge.
