Super Smash Bros Ultimate – Nintendo Switch (2018)
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a crossover platform fighter that brings together an unprecedented roster of 89 playable characters spanning Nintendo’s rich history and iconic third-party franchises. The gameplay revolves around fast-paced, accessible combat where players deal damage to knock opponents off-stage rather than depleting traditional health bars, supporting local and online multiplayer across more than 100 stages with customizable rulesets. It features a robust single-player campaign titled “World of Light,” where players embark on an adventure to rescue lost fighters’ spirits and defeat the light entity Galeem, equipping collectable Spirits to gain custom battle buffs and overcome themed challenge matches. Critical and commercial reception was overwhelmingly positive; critics lauded its immense roster, refined combat mechanics, and vast array of content, deeming it both the definitive entry in the series and one of the highest-selling fighting games of all time.

Nintendo GameCube Controller: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition
The Nintendo GameCube Controller: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition is an officially produced gamepad designed to offer the exact tactile feel that competitive players have relied on since 2001. Finished in matte black, it replaces the traditional Nintendo GameCube emblem on the center faceplate with a sleek, metallic silver Super Smash Bros. fiery cross logo. Functionally identical to original GameCube hardware, it features the iconic asymmetrical face button layout anchored by a oversized green ‘A’ button, analog pressure-sensitive triggers, and an octagonal gate around the analog sticks for precise directional inputs. It retains the proprietary GameCube connector plug rather than USB, requiring the included GameCube Controller Adapter to connect directly to the Nintendo Switch dock, while offering a modern extended 10-foot cable (up from the original 6.5 feet) for easier living room setups.

Nintendo GameCube Controller Adapter
The Nintendo GameCube Controller Adapter is a compact accessory designed to bridge legacy GameCube hardware with modern consoles, featuring four classic front-facing controller ports. Originally released for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and reissued for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it connects directly to the USB ports on the Nintendo Switch dock. It utilizes a dual-USB connection: the primary black USB plug handles controller inputs and button signals, while an optional gray USB plug supplies the extra power necessary for controller rumble features. Up to two adapters can be connected simultaneously to a single Switch dock, enabling up to eight players to use original or re-released GameCube controllers for local multiplayer battles without noticeable input lag.
